Amanda Wingfield, the mother abandoned by her husband and raising her two children under harsh conditions. Tom, Wingfield, the son that works in a shoe warehouse but has aspirations of being a poet. Laura Wingfield, the daughter who is shy and sensitive with a slight limp that she has allowed to affect her entire personality. AND Jim O'Connor a "nice ordinary young man" who comes to call on Laura.
